3D geological model of the Nattai Dome, Southern Highlands, NSW, Australia
This video shows an example of a 3D geological model created for part of the Southern Sydney Basin around the town of Mittagong in the NSW Southern Highlands region.
It shows a dome structure that formed due to the layers of sedimentary rocks being pushed upwards to create space for the intrusion of igneous rocks during the Jurassic period. The model was generated using Leapfrog Geo, using field mapping data and information collated from drillhole reports made available by the NSW Geological Survey.
