Data Visualisation and Interactive Maps
As most client projects involve confidential data, we have produced an interactive web map using three public domain datasets: seismic activity from the International Seismological Centre, volcanic eruptions from the Smithsonian’s Global Volcanism Program, and satellite-measured sulphur dioxide emissions from NASA.
The data capture natural hazard activity between 1960 and 2024. The events are colour-coded – with eruptions shown in red, their emissions in yellow, and earthquakes in a shade of blue (lighter colours are shallower, while darker blues indicate deeper seismicity).
The project involved building a custom interactive mapping interface, and keeping nearly 200,000 data points fast and responsive in-browser.
